The Linked Senior Journey to Purposeful Aging

Natalie Elliott Handy confessions of a reluctant caregiver

The Linked Senior Journey to Purposeful Aging with Charles De Vilmorin, CEO & Co-Founder of Linked Senior

What if I told you that there's a way to 'live long, die short'? What inspires someone to undertake this mission, and how does it transform the aging process? My guest today is Charles De Vilmorin, co-founder of Linked Senior, an organization dedicated to changing the experience of aging. Linked Senior supports person-centered care through life enrichment and dementia engagement, using technology and non-drug therapy. Together, we talk about a variety of topics including dementia care, ageism, and the quest for purpose in our later years.

Today, we talk about the concept of "live long, die short," We'll also touch upon the vital role of agency and support in senior living, with a focus on empowering families to advocate for their loved ones. We share our perspectives on ageism and how it's a challenge we must confront head-on and that purpose should be a basic human right, regardless of age.

With a personal connection to the challenges of dementia and a desire to make a positive impact, Charles has dedicated himself to changing the experience of aging and ensuring that every older adult in senior living finds purpose and joy. Thank you, Charles!

About Charles De Vilmorin & Linked Senior

At Linked Senior we believe in a world where people of all ages are respected and valued. This is why we build simple, evidence-based and clinically validated software to support person-centered life enrichment for older adults and their care partners. Our technology focuses on engagement, connection and celebration of individuality.

I believe that purpose is a basic human right, that older adults regardless of their background or physical and cognitive journey should find meaning every day of they lives.

I believe that the world is better every day an activity director is born.

I believe that a person is a person, no matter how old.

I was born and raised in France and have lived in Washington DC for 20+ years.

My passion for the older adults started with members of my family, close experiences with Alzheimer's and a deep desire to improve the world.

As the co-founder of Linked Senior, I oversee a passionate team that:

- Is changing the experience of aging

- Enables the model of social prescription

- Designs technology solutions to bring purpose to every Elder in Senior Living

- Started the Old People Are Cool campaign to fight ageism

- Started the #ActivitiesStrong platform to acknowledge, educate and empower Activity and Life Enrichment Directors

As a founder, I dream BIG and have one goal - to make as much positive impact as we can. We organize fun runs connecting nursing homes and building community, raise money for the Alzheimer's Association every year and constantly talks about why Old People Are Cool

Beyond that, I am:

Father of four, ultra-runner, cook, retired DJ & music lover - I will have fun with almost anything after having made fun of myself.

May the Age be with you!
